Respect for women’s rights built into a Model for self-financing, ecological, sustainable, local integrated development projects.

The article describes in detail how respect for women's rights is built into the Model for self-financing, ecological, sustainable, local integrated development projects for the world’s poor promoted by the Dutch NGO Stichting Bakens Verzet (“Another Way”). The Model is in the public domain and available for use free of charge. It can be downloaded from website www.flowman.nl. The article covers rights under both the Draft charter for the rights of african women, Addis Abeba 28th March 2003 and rights under the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child, 1990. It describes how a majority participation of women in all the project structures is assured and how the work load on women in project areas is reduced. It describes how women's income is increased and how the health and education of women are improved in the course of project execution.
