The position will involve conducting first-rate scientific and problem relevant research in collaboration with partners in low and middle income countries as well as other Eawag departments. Depending on performance and assessed potential of the researcher, the position may later be upgraded to a position of group leader.
Requirements include
1) A PhD degree in engineering with knowledge and experience on technical/engineering options for water treatment for low- and middle-income countries;
2) Research interest and some experience in low and middle income countries preferably in partnership with local organizations;
3) Interest in working with multidisciplinary teams of microbiologists, chemists, process engineering as well as social sciences;
4) Knowledge about and contacts to research institutions in developing countries, as well as donor and development agencies is advantageous but not required. ---- Apply before: 23rd May 2008
