Policy Branch has compiled a directory entitled International Urban Cooperation Policies and Programmes. This directory provides basic information about the key policy directions of donors and special programmes active in the urban milieu. It also gives an overview of what international organizations are doing in specific sectors, such as urban environment, municipal management, and basic services (water, sanitation, health, and so on). To collect information, we directly contacted key bilateral and multilateral agencies, regional development banks, and international organizations, asking them to provide us with information about their urban development policies, programmes and projects. This information was then completed by searches through the Intenet and CIDA's Information Centre. This bilingual, regularly updated directory is divided into six sections: Multilateral agencies, Multilateral programmes, Regional development banks, Bilateral donors, International associations of local authorities, Other international initiatives and organizations.
