The U.S. National Bureau of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a program dealing with Forensic Sciences. It includes support for forensic examination of digital evidence, computer forensic tool testing, support for state and local laboratories testing DNA data, and provision of standardized testing materials. The website provides reports as well as information on the programs activities. This may be a useful collaborator for developing nation's standards bodies dealing with forensics.

Using Google and LexisNexis as search engines, the authors of this report found 64 blogger arrest incidents taking place between 2003 and mid 2008 discussed in various news articles, blogs, scholarly articles and informational Web sites.
