CURRENTLY RECEIVING APPLICATIONS - DEADLINE: 11 APRIL 2008
The Stop TB Partnership-Kochon Prize supports the global fight against tuberculosis. The Prize is awarded once a year to persons, institutions, or organizations that have made a highly significant contribution to combating tuberculosis. The prize consists of a medal and US$ 65 000. The cost of awardees' participation in the Award Ceremony also is covered.

2007 Award Winners - BRAC, Bangladesh, For scaling up TB control in the country by involving communities and increasing access to diagnosis and treatment; Ministry of Health, People's Republic of China with special mention to Dr. Wang Longde and to Dr Zhao Fengzeng - For remarkable achievement in the implementation and expansion of TB control-reaching full population coverage. Special mention to Dr Zhao Fengzeng for technical leadership in the initial phase of DOTS implementation in China in the early 1990s and to Vice-Minister of Health Dr Wang Longde for leadership and commitment resulting in the achievement of the World Health Assembly targets.
