Medellín Digital inaugurates 65 Digital Schools
Since the 30th of January, the Program Medellín Digital started a journey around the city, to inaugurate 65 Digital Schools. This concept is a revolution in these public schools since students, teachers and even the surrounding community can use the technology in different moments and spaces, with the objective of improving the quality of education.
From now on, all classes and teachers will have access to the Mobile PC, a small cart that travels around the school, with 3 laptops. These schools also have the Open Classroom, which is a room with 21 PCs (in average) not only for the School but also for the neighbourhood acting as a community Telecenter. There are also new PCs in the library, teachers’ room, classrooms, etc., all connected to the Internet with wireless connection.
With this initiative, Medellín Digital contributes making reality the dream of a more educated city, where all citizens have access to ICT tools for improving their access to knowledge and learning, contributing to the social and economic development, with no age, social or economic limits. With Medellín Digital, the world is just a click away.
