مؤتمر حرية التعبير بمكتبة الإسكندرية

عرضت فكرة مؤتمر منارة حرية التعبير لأول مرة أثناء مؤتمر نظمته مكتبة الإسكندرية لمدة يوم واحد (١٩ مايو ٢٠٠٣) وتلاه مؤتمر آخر من ١٨ إلى ٢٠ سبتمبر ٢٠٠٤. وكان الهدف من إقامة المؤتمرين هو زيادة الوعي بالقضايا والتحديات المتصلة بحرية التعبير.

قام منتدى الحوار النرويجي لحرية التعبير بتصميم وإصدار "قاعدة بيانات حرية التعبير" الببليوجرافية عن حرية التعبير والرقابة في العالم وذلك احتفالاً بإعادة إحياء مكتبة الإسكندرية .. مكتبة الإنسانية.

وتُمثل قاعدة البيانات هذه مصدراً فريداً للمعلومات من شأنه تعزيز الحوار بين ثقافات العالم حول الحق في حرية التعبير ومن ثَمَّ الإسهام في التوعية بأن حرية التعبير وإتاحة المعرفة والحوار الحُر تمثل أفضل وسيلة دفاع ضد القهر.

ومن خلال العمل المشترك بين منتدى الحوار النرويجي ومكتبة الاسكندرية، نظم منتدى الحوار التابع لمكتبة الإسكندرية المؤتمر الثالث في سلسلة المؤتمرات المنعقدة لمناقشة قضايا حرية التعبير وإتاحة المعرفة وذلك يوم الثلاثاء الموافق ٢٢ إبريل 2008 والذي عقد بمكتبة الإسكندرية.

وقد حملت الجلسة الاولى عنوان "حرية التعبير والقانون"، أدارت الجلسة مقدمة البرامج التلفزيونية بثينة كامل، وتحدث فيها كلاً من الدكتور قدري حفني والدكتور حاتم الطحاوي وسيادة السفير علي ماهر والدكتور ماجد موريس
وقد حملت الجلسة الثانية عنوان "تداول المعلومات"، أدارت الجلسة مقدمة البرامج التليفزيونية شهيرة أمين، وتحدث فيها كلاً من الدكتور حسام لطفي والدكتور حسين عبد العزيز ويان هنننجسون مدير المعهد السويدي بالإسكندرية، والسيدة فيجيدس سكارستين، من المكتبة القومية النرويجية.

وأثار مدير مكتبة الإسكندرية في ختام المؤتمر قضية هامة هي أن مفهوم تداول المعلومات لا يتعلق فقط بأن تكون المعلومات متاحة في مكان ما، وإنما يجب أن يتم الوضع في الاعتبار تسهيل الوصول إليها والحصول عليها، وهي القضية التي ستضعها مكتبة الإسكندرية في الاعتبار وتأخذ على عاتقها مهمة معالجة القضايا والأسئلة المطروحة حول حرية التعبير والمعرفة خاصة في تصوراتها للمستقبل .
