Arigatou International and Arigatou Foundation
Arigatou International is committed to work for the empowerment of children and youth and sees the full implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) as the most important achievement towards a better and more just world for children and youth. As a member of the NGO Group for the CRC and of the Child Rights Information Network (CRIN), Arigatou International liaises and works jointly with other NGOs to foster cooperation with UN and UN agencies in a rights based approach to one of today's most pertinent issue, the wellbeing and rights of children and youth. At the Special Session on Children of the United Nations General Assembly in May 2002, President Takeyasu Miyamoto of the Arigatou Foundation spoke to the world leaders assembled on behalf of the GNRC, proposing the establishment of the Interfaith Council on Ethics Education for Children as an expression of the commitment to continue to work to eradicate poverty and to contribute to the full implementation of the CRC and the and the Global Movement for Children (GMfC).
