Accra Agenda for Action
The Accra Agenda for Action was released following the end of the High Level forum in Ghana on 4th September 2008. A comparison with the second draft which was published on 27th June 2008, shows that the new agenda includes specific timelines and inclusion of some new plans.
For instance, importance of democracy, economic growth, social progress and environmental challenges has been recognized as prime engines of development besides aid (Sec 3).

Overhaul the global relief system now or watch millions more people slide over the edge into destitution, an aid agency says in a report full of warnings to donors, governments and humanitarians alike.

Political leaders from around the world, heads of bilateral and multilateral development agencies, donor organizations, and civil society organizations met in Accra, Ghana, from 2 to 4 September to make development aid money more effective. 'A group of UK NGOs is calling on governments to increase Aid for small-scale African farmers in ways that will help them to feed their people, improve their livelihoods and sustain the environment.

Aid to improve local food production and consumption does not, however, appear to be the priority, despite the urgency of the food crisis.'

In June 2007, Action for Global Health produced their first policy report, Health Warning which highlighted the significant gaps in donor aid that need to be overcome if the health Millennium Development Goals are to be met.
